San Salvador, Educación

Lidia and Melvin chose the word “Educación”.

They both work for an NGO that deals with education and mental health in order to break the cycle of violence that El Salvador has been suffering from.
After the long civil war in the 80s and beginning of the 90s, gang activity as well as domestic violence became a massive problem. The Salvadoran population was in a state of trauma after living through such violence, and this led to further violence in slums inside homes.

Lidia and Melvin are dedicated to stopping this cycle of violence through educational and mental health programs.

This is my 8th and last wall in Comunidad Las Palmas, San Salvador. I want thank the community for being so welcoming and supportive throughout the month! I had an amazing time! Projects like these make me love humanity. ¡Muchas gracias!
