“Abyssinia”
“I choose to share the word “Abyssinia”. It’s the former name of my country, at the time when Ethiopia and Eritrea were together”. – Eyoel – Lideta, Addis Ababa
“Unity”
We are often asked to paint this word, and I think it sums up the slums pretty well. Thank you to the people of Lideta for having chosen “unity”!
“Mercy”
“Mercy” was the word that Hermes (15 years old) wanted us to paint on his house, in the slum of Lideta, Addis Ababa.
“Ethiopia”
Sissay chose the word “Ethiopia” written in the local Amharic scrpit. It’s always a good challenge to paint in new scrpits !
