“Sanar” means “to heal” in Spanish.
My friend Katy who lives in Venezuela was asking me to paint the word “Sanar” next time I come over. In her low-income neighbourhood of Petare, she’s been working for years for people to come together and heal their community regardless of political views.
I made this riso print with the situation in Venezuela in mind. You’ll recognise the map of Venezuela, the horse and orchid – symbols of the country, and a kite, a symbol of Petare and other slum areas where kite flying is very popular.

Lo siento, no puedo enviar a Venezuela.
