La Défense – Paris

I usually paint letters on flat surfaces, so it was a lot of fun going 3D!

Thank you to @agathe_juin and Laure from @cceorganisation for making this possible!

The artwork was created for the inauguration of a building named after the Scottish inventor James Watt. I started painting the letters in Normandy and finished live at the event in La Défense next to Paris.

Water-based spray paint on polystyrene.

Secours Populaire

I’m taking part in an auction raising funds for a french charity fighting poverty and discrimination : @secourspop

I painted this board with the word « Together » written on one side, and « Alone » on the other.

These words were chosen by Claire Alleaume , a French and British skateboarder, who managed to be both champion of France and of the UK!

She told me that although skateboarding is an individual sport, the community aspect is huge and skateboarding makes people come together.

The online auction has started. Funds will go to talking poverty. Bid online here:

Carentan

« From the forest ».

I painted these containers for Laudescher, a wood industry located in Carentan, Normandy.

On the large container I painted patterns inspired by the forest with flowers, wood and leaves, and on the smaller one I painted patterns inspired by the wooden products created by the industry.

Thank you to the team at Laudescher for their warm welcome ! And thank you to Palma Festival for organising!

Eksat

एक साथ (“Eksat” meaning “together” in Hindi). Acrylic on 40×50 cm art paper.

This word was first given to me to paint in Phule Nagar, a slum of Mumbai. I really enjoy using different alphabets and sanskrit always works well!

“Bandiera Senza Curva”

This time I created a piece without paint. Instead I used pieces of fabric sown together. I did it all myself with a sewing machine and I love how fabric adds texture! For sale, contact me for more info!

My dad taught me to sow when I was a teenager because I wanted to create flags to wave at the football stadium in Caen. This was at a time where I also learnt how to spray paint and how to create huge displays from plastic sheets in the stadium. Sowing is totally part of the ultras movement and football support in general. I’ve been using coloured fabric for a long time, but this is my first piece which isn’t designed for football which is why I’ve called it “Bandiera Senza Curva” 😊 flag without a football stand). Yet another exemple of « siamonoism* ».

* The term « siamonoism » comes from the italian phrase « … siamo noi » ( =we are … ) which is used by ultras of many italian football clubs in order highlight their identity like in the famous « Milano siamo noi » chant. « Siamonoism » designates artwork or artists who’ve emerged from ultras groups or who are inspired by the subculture.

”Avenir” – Gavray

Can you read the hidden word? (It’s in french).

I painted this 7.5 x 5.5 meter wall in a school in Gavray, Normandy.

The word was chosen by the pupils and painted in a single day instead of 2 days! A terrible weather forecast meant I had no choice but to finish the wall in a day before the rain came pouring down. I started at 10am and finished at 1:20am the following morning which meant working in the dark with artificial lighting.

In the end I enjoyed the challenge, and I spent the next day giving art classes to the pupils.

Thank you to the teachers and pupils of the Collège Roland Vaudatin for their warm welcome !
